Ashley Brett Chipman is haunted by beautifully strange worlds. With a background spanning film, dance, installation art, and everything otherworldly, she has spent over a decade as a set decorator for film and television — building visually rich worlds for characters to inhabit on projects ranging from M. Night Shyamalan's Servant (Apple TV+) to Ryan Murphy's American Horror Stories (FX), with additional credits for HBO, Netflix, and films premiering at Sundance.
Her work demands leading large teams under pressure while maintaining an exacting eye for beauty and visual storytelling — a discipline that has shaped her singular aesthetic sensibility.
The desire to bring her craft into a living, breathing world with a present audience — combined with a lifelong infatuation with the mystery surrounding Rasputin and Imperial Russia — led her to found Artemis Is Burning and create the award winning immersive theater show The Death of Rasputin.
